While living in the tropics provides endless inspiration for a painter, it also presents endless challenges. In a very short time, the tropical sun, humidity, mold, insects and other mysterious things can eat away at even the best conservation efforts. However, paintings on tile are impervious to the elements; can be installed directly into the spa, pool, and shower, or create a beautiful back splash in the kitchen or bath. Be it tropical sun and humidity, food fights by the kids or general wear and tear in a villa, these works of art on tile are durable.
Tile paintings can be set into the wall (where traditional framed art would hang) or expanded to completely fill the wall as a full mural. The visual impact of a full size mural can give the feeling of space and create the desired ambiance in a dining room, living room or bedroom and they can quickly set the mood - just outside the entry.
